I have phases of playing a band incessantly, and that's the time to make my marks on the paper. These past days REM have filled my rooms. Michael's voice reminds me of pretty desperate days of black loneliness when I couldn't imagine a way out and the night was mine alone. I'm not the only one I know, but having experienced it I have great empathy for those in a dark place. The words in this painting give us all hope and testify to the power of music.
My deepest gratitude to family and friends from those times who helped me through.
