One of the best debut albums by anyone, Chrissie and her band released "Pretenders" in late 1979. Her songwriting and delivery are unique and I was in love from that first purchase. The music has always taken care of itself but as I learned more about her, the more I admired her. A veggie since her teens, she has always spoken out for animal rights and environmental issues. Drug, alcohol and smoke free nowadays, she has seen the dark side many times. Gang raped by Hells Angels in her youth and the loss of band mates to overdoses she has a litany of experience on which to draw in her writing and painting.
This mixed media image shows her defiant stance against the world with a few lines from "Brass In Pocket" in her pocket.
This is a one-off Original piece on Saunders Waterford 300gsm HP paper, using mixed media including Watercolour Paint, Acrylic Paint, Inktense Pencils and occasionally Unison Colour Soft Pastels.
