I'd spent a considerable amount of time and energy on this painting. It looked dull and destined for my bin, lacking in the life and energy associated with the man's fine drumming. More in frustration than anything else I recalled a film I'd seen of Jackson Pollock riding his bike over a huge canvas and hurling buckets of paint around. On a smaller scale I took to splashing on white and silver slivers of acrylic and watercolour. It had the effect on the page that Belgian beer has on my mind.
This is a one-off Original piece on Saunders Waterford 300gsm HP paper, using mixed media including Watercolour Paint, Acrylic Paint, Inktense Pencils and occasionally Unison Colour Soft Pastels.
