Inspired by a series of beautiful shots of the Beatles and Stewart Sutcliffe taken in Hamburg by Astrid Kichherr. When she heard the sounds coming up from the Kaiserkeller Club she said "It was like a merry-go-round in my head, they looked absolutely astonishing...my whole life changed in a couple of minutes. All I wanted was to be with them and to know them." Here, John is roughly 20 years old, sporting the new Beatle haircut reputedly invented by Astrid.
This is a one-off Original piece on Saunders Waterford 300gsm HP paper, using mixed media including Watercolour Paint, Acrylic Paint, Inktense Pencils and occasionally Unison Colour Soft Pastels.
