This one is dedicated to my late father-in-law. In his later years he took to driving fast as far as his body permitted throughout North Africa and Europe, writing off the occasional BMW on the way. He loved Johnny Cash too, so it was appropriate that we played this version at his funeral.

The song was originally written by Australian Geoff Mack in 1959, referencing towns like Muckadilla, Wullumbilla and Boggabilla. His publisher thought the song had potential for the North American market, hence he rewrote with US cities incorporated. Many versions have been recorded, notably by Hank Snow in 1963 and Johnny Cash in 1996.

I've painted a windswept Cash wandering the mid-West with his guitar. The entire "I've Been Everywhere, Man" is scrawled on his long coat, guitar case, trousers and boots. RIP Johnny and Ian.

This is a one-off Original piece on Saunders Waterford 300gsm HP paper, using mixed media including Watercolour Paint, Acrylic Paint, Inktense Pencils and occasionally Unison Colour Soft Pastels.
