“Purple Rain” was recorded on August 3, 1983, during a benefit concert for the Minnesota Dance Theatre at Prince’s home base venue, the First Avenue nightclub in Minneapolis.
Like most people, I suppose, it's impossible to give a categorical answer when asked "what's your favourite song?" It depends on mood, situation, weather and all sorts of conditions, but I often find "Purple Rain" way up there. It's a song for all seasons. Can be an anthem, can be a hymn, can be anything to anyone, but it is inescapably beautiful.
Watercolour, pencils, acrylics and sandpaper.
