Prince in the purple rain. It's one of those songs I can play every day and it remains beguiling.... 'enchanting, often in a deceptive way' says my dictionary. He felt the colour purple symbolised the end of the world and the song is about finding divine guidance during Armageddon. The apocalypse was on his mind in the 1980s and that theme became more evident because of the arms race during that decade.
Anyway, it's a classic and approaching its 40th birthday. We're still here, but barely hanging on....
This is a one-off Original piece on Saunders Waterford 300gsm HP paper, using mixed media including Watercolour Paint, Acrylic Paint, Inktense Pencils and occasionally Unison Colour Soft Pastels.
